GBSCSI, the low-cost SCSI emulation alternative

GBSCSI is DECromancer's new SCSI drive emulator designed for reliability and reduced cost. Using the same support software as ZuluSCSI, GBSCSI is an authorized, CERN-OHL-S v2 licensed design. Read our interview with its creator, George Mezzomo.

Note: Most synthesizers and vintage computers, including all classic 68K and PowerPC Macintoshes, do not contain a built-in SCSI controller that is capable of supporting SCSI at speeds of above 10 megabytes per second. Learn more...

3.5" Mounting Bracket

  • 3D printed bracket for GBSCSI 3.5" Hybrid

  • Mounts in an internal 3.5" drive bay

  • Convenient access to micro-USB connector and microSD

  • Sight hole for drive access LED

  • Available in black and white

To mount, insert the front edge into the bracket. Align rear holes with pegs. While slightly bending the bracket away from the underside of the device, press the rear GBSCSI holes onto the bracket's pegs.

Your screws can be added in the front holes for additional support.

Internal SCSI Cable

Connect your new internal SCSI emulator to your computer.

  • Pick from 30cm, 60cm, or 90cm (1, 2, or 3 feet) in length

  • 2 50-pin standard or high-quality 3M connectors with strain relief

  • Works with all internal SCSI devices with a 50-pin rectangular connector

Floppy Power Header

GBSCSI runs off of bus termination power, supplied by your host computer.

Certain older machines do not supply bus termination power, such as certain Macintoshes.

If you know your machine does not provide terminator power, or are worried about compatibility, add this option to your order and we will solder a power connector onto your unit before shipping.

GBSCSI 2.5" Laptop

  • 2.5" wide GBSCSI with 2mm laptop connector

  • Intended for use with SCSI PowerBooks, ThinkPads, etc.

  • RP2040: Up to 9.5 MB/s read, 6 MB/s write

  • RP2350: Up to 18MB/s read and 11MB/s write speeds with compatible SCSI controller & SD card

  • Supports wireless transfer in Macs, Atari STs, and Amigas via DaynaPORT emulation

  • Self-powered via SCSI termination power on pin 26 only (Berg header does not fit)
